Jamie McMurray Wins Daytona 500
After two lengthy delays, NASCAR drivers finally reached the finish line with a green/white/checkered finish. Jamie McMurray held off hard-charging Dale Earnhardt Jr. to win the 2010 Daytona 500.
In a race that took over six hours from start to finish, the number one car took home the trophy.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. moved up from tenth place to second in less than two laps to put pressure on McMurray, but ran out of laps to make his move.
In a race that will be remembered for a pesky pothole, Chip Ganassi Racing’s own Jamie McMurray, who started in the 13th position, won the Super Bowl of racing.
