<intro>
The Buccaneers finally got their first win of the season on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

The Bucs took advantage of every Packers mistake and came out with the victory. The win for the Buccaneers ended an 11-game losing streak, with their last win almost a year ago on November 30 against the Saints. The Bucs were wearing their fallback orange creamsicle uniforms in honor of Hall of Fame defensive end Lee Roy Selmon and the 1979 playoff team.

After this victory, maybe they should switch back to those uniforms permanently.

After their dominant pre-season, the Packers had Super Bowl aspirations this season, and there were many who agreed with that thought. However, the Packers blew an 11-point fourth quarter lead and the previously winless Buccaneers capitalized on the Packers mistakes and came out with a 38-28 victory.

The Bucs defense sacked Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers six times in the game and all of them came in the second half. The Packers have given up a league-leading 37 sacks so far this season.

Buccaneers rookie quarterback Josh Freeman, who was making his first NFL start, was not stellar when it came to stats, but his 14-of-31 with three touchdowns and one interception were spectacular for a rookie in his first start in the NFL.

Every time the Bucs offense was in the red zone, they scored.

With just under 13 minutes left in the game, the Packers looked as if they were on there way to their way to handing the Bucs their 8th straight loss and an 0-8 record on the season after quarterback Aaron Rodgers scrambled for a 12-yard touchdown to go up by 11 and make the score 28-17. Rodgers completed 17 of 35 passes for 266 yards and two touchdowns, but the Bucs also intercepted him three times in the game.

After Rodgers scramble for a score, the Bucs did not take long to get back into the game when kick returner Clifton Smith tore through the Packers special team unit with an 83-yard runback to the Green Bay 17 on the ensuing kickoff. Just three plays later, Buccaneers rookie quarterback Josh Freeman threw a touchdown pass to tight end Kellen Winslow in the back of the end zone. After the Bucs missed its two-point conversion try, they were only down by five.

That turned the momentum of the game right back over to the Bucs, and they never looked back.

The Bucs defense stopped the Packers' offense on their next possession, and Freeman led the Buccaneers 72 yards in eight plays and put them in front for the first time in the game when he threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to receiver Sammie Stroughter on fourth down. Once again, the Bucs went for two and Freeman found receiver Michael Clayton open in the back of the end zone giving the Buccaneers a 31-28 lead they would never relinquish.

The Packers next two offensive series, the Bucs sacked him three times, and had the game clinching interception, which was returned for a touchdown. It was Rodgers third interception of the game, and it tipped off receiver Donald Driver's hands and was snatched out of the air by Buccaneers free safety Tanard Jackson, who juked his way through the Packers offense for a 35-yard touchdown return.

The Packers held advantages in total yards, 404 to 279, and time of possession, 35:17 to 24:43, but the Bucs capitalized on every opportunity when they had a chance.

The Packers started out the game with a bang as Rodgers hit receiver James Jones for a 74-yard touchdown on their first possession of the game and he also led the team on two long touchdown drives. However, the Bucs never allowed the Packers to open up their first-half lead by more then a touchdown.

It was the Packers mistakes that led to the Buccaneers scores. After Rodgers' first interception of the game, Bucs rookie quarterback Josh Freeman threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to running back Derrick Ward. The Bucs second touchdown came off a blocked punt that cornerback Ronde Barber returned 31 yards for a score, and the games decisive factor was an interception return for a touchdown by safety Tanard Jackson.

The Buccaneers gained the momentum in the fourth quarter and held on for their first win. The Packers had numerous opportunities to put the Bucs away early in the game and make it a laugher, but they never did, and they paid for it in the end.
</intro>
