<intro>
Now that the season has come and gone, recruits have been recruited and signed and spring football is over, college coaches are seemingly getting a little unglued.

First, we have the head coach of the national champion Florida Gators upset with some NFL officials for picking on one of his star players for his “alleged” drug abuse and mad at a former Gator for statements made on his talk show. Meyer has even gone as far as to say that basically if you aren’t a Gator lover then you won’t be welcomed on that campus. Apparently, that was directed at former Gator quarterback Shane Matthews, a talk show host in Gainesville.

Texas Tech head coach Mike Leach also had it out with NFL officials this past week over some of them calling former Tech wider receiver Michael Crabtree a “diva”. Leach didn’t take too kindly to the words about his former player.

Meanwhile, back in the SEC, Nick Saban at Alabama basically blamed part of his fan base for their loss to Utah in the Sugar Bowl this year and at Auburn, looks like the football budget has allowed Auburn head coach Gene Chizik and his assistants to ride around in limos and Hummers like teenagers going to prom to try to attract new recruits.

What is going on? Do these guys not have enough to do in the day?

Let’s start with Urban Meyer. I realize you have won national championships Urban, but before you even thought of being the head of the Gator Nation, Steve Spurrier and Shane Matthews put the program on the map. For you to get so upset over Matthews having the nerve to criticize your program is ridiculous. Your program is subject to the same sort of criticism and praise that every program is. If you can take all the praise your program gets, then you need to man up and take the other side as well.

Coach Leach, that goes for you too. You know you have always been pretty much a flake. Your flakiness probably cost you several head coaching positions especially a couple in the SEC that were open last year, so you shouldn’t be surprised that one of your players was seen by some scouts as a diva. Your attitude especially during your renegotiations of your contract last year, was diva like as well. Maybe your attitude rubbed off on some of your players. If you humbled yourself a little bit more, maybe your former and current players will do the same.

Coach Saban I know you were upset over the lost to Utah and you were right, some of the fans weren’t excited about the game because they felt like the team should have been playing for a national championship, but let’s get real here for a minute shall we. The biggest problems in that game was the team wasn’t prepared nor excited either and that’s not the fans fault, that’s yours and the assistant coaches fault for not getting them ready.

And finally to Coach Chizik, I do realize that you wanted to generate excitement for your program, but playing pimp my ride is not the way to do it. Riding around in big cars to impress recruits just says to country that you are willing to pimp out your program to just to get any player to come there. You want recruits to get excited about Auburn football? Win some games this year instead of relying on a gimmick to draw attention.

In short gentleman, get a grip.
</intro>
